Q: How do I check out books?
A: Books are checked out for two weeks, but may be returned anytime during the two weeks and exchanged for other or additional books. Books may only be rechecked one time for an additional two week period. If you need the book for longer than a month, please speak directly with Mrs. Stobaugh.
There is a limit of two (2) items that may be checked out at one time. Overdue materials must be returned before more materials may be checked out. Please pay all fines in the library.
Be sure to get a new due date slip every time you check out a book! Hang onto them – we need to recycle!
Q: When can I visit the library media center?
A: English teachers have a regularly scheduled time on a weekly basis. 8th graders on Monday, 7th graders on Tuesday, and 9th graders. on Wednesday.
Thursday and Friday are open Library - You may visit the library during the hours of operation if you have permission from your classroom teacher ,.
Q: What are the rules of behavior in the media center?
A: Visiting the media center is a privilege. Proper care of equipment and materials plus proper respect for other media center users is required at all times. Courtesy is the keyword. School rules apply in the media center just like in other areas of the school.
Q: How do I find Accelerated Reader Books?
A: Students and parents can log-in to the Renaissance Place website and search for books for which tests are available. We have access on-campus to all tests provided by the Renaissance Place. You can access the site at the following location: Renaissance Students have a much wider range of choices in books to read because of this added feature to our Accelerated Reader program.
Q: How do I check out or check in books?
A: There is a procedure to follow! First and foremost – be sure you are cleanly in your habits with books and materials from the library. We ask that you first use the GermX located at the far left of the Circulation desk to help cut down on the spreading of sickness and germs through our school population. The person ready to check out your materials will need to be notified of what you wish to do with your materials. Please let them know if you wish to check in, check out, or renew the materials BEFORE placing the item under the bar code scanner.
Check in – please remove the due date marker after scanning the book. Place the materials/book on the book truck located at the far end of the circulation desk
when book has been entered in the system.
Renew – please remove the old due date marker and take a new one for your new due date reminder after the book has been scanned.
Check out – After scanning the item, take a due date marker from the container and you are free to READ!
